A WHOLE DAY OF EXCITEMENT & ADVENTURE

Take a guess where today, Saturday took me....
I wouldnt have gone if my daughter had not insisted i should go. But she did and i found myself dragging my feet reluctantly and drove with her to the assembly point.

It was an hour drive thru bumpy and dusty road with 26 others, who like my daughter, their faces definitely
beaming  with such contagious smiles;  i began to enjoy the trip as well. Finally, the vehicles stopped at the edge of a wide, raging and convoluting river, where the crew waited to brief us on the how to and the safety of our adventure. Now i know why they let us signed a waiver denying responsibility if something happens.

We set out in 5 boats and in each boat we had an expert captain to steer the boat while we did the paddling.
There were 4 recue crew who acted as our photo/videographer. Part of the adventure package  is we're
gonna be given a copy in cd of our adventure. So we showed out best big smiles though the rapids scared the
hell out of many of us.

The rapids slowly began to build the excitement within us that no sooner than we were shouting for more and
bigger ones. As the rapids got wilder, some fell into the river; other boats turned upside down and we participated in the rescue. It felt like we were superheroes! We were fortunate that we had an expert captain -not that we were good paddlers!

The whole river adventure is 13 kms and it took almost the  whole day till we got back to the city. We
were given our  cd and Tshirt and a full head of memories to reminish.

That today IS where Saturday took me ----> WILDWATER RAFTING!

DESTINATION HOLYWEEK

It's Holy Week!
And in contrast to its religious undertone, people are preparing to hit the road either to visit relatives in the provinces..or spend the week with friends in beaches and mountain resorts. Inbound is quite high too with the cheap airfares offered by major airlines. It could probably have been higher if not for the unaffordable fuel prices. It keeps some from travelling.

Davao again is swarmed with tourists and one favorite destination is the Island Garden City of Samal, whose fine white sand beaches and pristine waters are quite irrisistible. Most resorts have lined up varied activities
like kayaking, banana boat, snorkeling and scuba diving
for the dive enthusiasts.

Others take it to the mountains. Two of the most camped mountains are Mt. Apo and Maragusan. But going there needs prior preparations and physical conditioning. Maragusan's numerous waterfalls are awesome to behold. But definitely, its not my destination this year.

For those seeking inner peace and renewal of faith, many religious organizations are offering retreats,
inspirational fora, and lent activities.

For me, the island is my refuge..so is Jesus..as there is nothing i shall want.

IF U GET OVERLY CAUTIOUS...

I was daytrading today and prepared my set ups on three companies. Only one got filled and the other two never had a chance as it gapped up too high at opening.

The one that got filled made a good run within an hour. I was elated and prepared my sell set up at a modest 10% gain. In less than the wink of an eye, it was sold, leaving me bewildered at the rate it was filled up!

The stock continued its bull run leaving me biting the dust. Had i not sold prematurely, i would have gotten the meat of the trade.

The lesson i got in this trading...TIMING IS NO. 1

Looking Back...

I often hear that when a man starts reminishing, they usually say cuz he's already old. I think i have to admit i am.

When my daughter recently arrived from NY, not a minute that i dont hear my 2 granddaughters calling me"lolo". It felt awkward at first...but later on it became music to my ears. I heard myself telling them how their mommy Laureen and Uncle Winwin used to be when they were kids too. And that started my being "old".

Looking back, i felt like a young father again. I remember running to the bank on the day they were born to open an account itf in their names. Though it was a meager amount, it did start the "seed" that proved to be essentially useful after college. I now think that that was the best thing i did at that time.

And funny how those memories unwind spontaneously and put u in a trance-like state, soo focused unmindful that it has been three decades ago!

Happy New Year 2023!!! Hope to find time this year to get back to blogging😞 The world is in turmoil with the war in Ukraine getting me wo...
